Our home is Pretoria, South Africa and our history is one of humble beginnings and modest expectations. About thirteen years ago Marlize earned her income from manufacturing bespoke garments for a select few clients.
Her background in fine art was always going to draw her in and she found a passion in the soft sculpture of period style costume.
A little research reinforced the fact that the White Wedding gown is a function of the the post WW 2 white era so elegantly brought into being as a post war psychological upper to move away from the gray and drab of war torn Europe. Christian Dior's White Wedding dress changed the culture of the world, and even morality became pinned to the purity of the white wedding dress of the world's sweetheart Grace Kelly.
So, bravely, as only an artist armed with colour and steeled with resolution could, she dared the modern bride to show her true colours and oh boy, have they?
